The primary role will be to support the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists in the provision of timely assessment, interventions and rehabilitation of patients admitted to Sconce Ward and Castle Ward at Newark Hospital.
The role incorporates administrative duties, as well as clinical work, carrying out treatment programmes planned by the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. You will work closely with the therapists and wider multi disciplinary team, where prioritisation skills and effective time management will be essential. You will need to have the ability to therapeutically move patients.

- Ability to prioritise workload of own caseload

Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of specialist equipment
- Knowledge of acute, community and Primary Care pathways
- Evidence of involvement in service development
- Awareness of need to maintain competencies appropriate to role
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Relevant NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in health related subject, or studying for this
Desirable criteria
- Validated courses in relevant subjects
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of working as an assistant in treating adults with rehabilitation needs backed up with relevant ongoing CPD and portfolio
- NHS Experience
Desirable criteria
- Working with patients in a group setting
- Sound knowledge and skills in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy rehabilitation
Physical Requirements
Essential criteria
- Physically able to carry out role
- Well-developed handling and observational skills
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of manual handling training and demonstrable patient handling skills
Contractual Requirements

- Working across site as role demand
- 7 day working
- Ability to work flexibility as service requires
