Senior Knee Arthroplasty Fellow

NHS Medical & Dental: Senior Clinical Fellow

Job overview

Nottingham Elective Orthopaedic Services, part of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, are looking to appoint a Lower Limb Arthroplasty Knee Fellow from February 2026 for a 6 month period.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist centre as part of a team of highly specialised surgeons, providing a regional tertiary complex arthroplasty service.

The Knee Fellow will work under Mr Ben Bloch alongside Mr Reshid Berber/Mr Hosam Matar,  and will be exposed to the whole breadth of knee arthroplasty including unicondylar, patellofemoral, primary total and revision knee arthroplasty.

Main duties of the job

The Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellow will work with and receive training from Mr B Bloch, specialising in Knee Arthroplasty.

The fellow will attend all elective clinics and theatres for the consultant during the attachment.

Working for our organisation

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) is the country’s fourth largest acute teaching trust. It was established on 1 April 2006 following the merger of Nottingham City Hospital and the Queen's Medical Centre. We established the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre (MTC) at NUH on April 1st 2012.

We provide acute and specialist services to 2.5 million people within Nottingham and surrounding communities from the Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) and the City Hospital campuses. We are a tertiary-level lower limb service performing complex revision hip and knee replacements for patients within our catchment and the surrounding areas.

We have an annual budget in excess of £682m of public sector funding and employ over 13,000 staff.

As an MTC, NUH is a multi-specialty hospital, on a single site, optimised for the provision of trauma care.  It is the focus of the Trauma Network and manages all types of injuries, providing consultant-level care.
