Security Officer

Band 2

We require proactive and hardworking staff to work as part of our Security Team on the QMC Campus.

As a Security Officer your duties will include the detection and prevention of crime, routine patrolling of the campuses, securing buildings and providing a presence within various clinical areas in addition to providing an ad-hoc escorting and guarding service (bed watches) across the rest of the hospitals.

It is essential that you hold a current SIA Front Line Guarding Licence and have a minimum of NVQ Level 2 qualification in Maths and English. A full and current UK driving licence is preferable.

Applicants must be outgoing, enthusiastic and flexible in their approach with the ability to work independently and be an effective written and verbal communicator. 

You will work an average hours rota of 12 hour shifts, alternating between sets of days and nights, on a 4 on 5 off pattern which will include weekends and bank holidays.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
