Job overview

Do you have the clinical skills, compassion, and commitment to make a real difference for people living with bleeding disorders?
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and patient-focused Haemophilia Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at Nottingham University Hospitals' Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre.

About the role
You’ll play a central role in delivering specialist nursing care, education, and support to adults and children with haemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders. Working closely with consultants, physiotherapists, psychosocial and laboratory teams, you’ll provide expert clinical advice, coordinate care, and empower patients and families to self-manage their condition where appropriate.

About you
We’re looking for either an adult or paediatric NMC registered nurse, with significant post-registration experience. You’ll have excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a passion for providing high-quality, patient-centred care. Experience in bleeding disorders is desirable but not essential — we’ll provide comprehensive training and ongoing professional development.

-          Advocate for patients when receiving care from other specialist teams ensuring effective documentation and dissemination of information.

-          Work in partnership with patients and families to initiate effective prophylaxis and facilitate optimal independence and self-management.

-          Liaise with a variety of professionals to ensure all surgical or invasive procedures for patients with bleeding disorders are effectively coordinated, treatment administered as required, and monitoring bloods obtained. Provide education to ward staff and support patient journey throughout.

-          Provide formal and informal education to patients and staff

-          Contribute to MDT meetings, team formulation meetings, and educational or complex case discussions

-          Work collaboratively with all members of the team to identify new ways of working that ensure high quality of care is delivered
