Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Interventional /Cardiac radiographer to join our busy department offering a wide range of procedures for all specialities. We have recently opened brand new accommodation on our QMC campus and hope to have redeveloped our City campus by 2026.
Main duties of the job
Previous experience in Cardiac & Interventional Radiography would be an advantage. This post is also suitable for a radiographer wishing to expand their knowledge, an extended training and induction period will be given.
We have 6 IR theatres across two sites and 3 cardiology labs based at the City campus. We have recently installed two brand new Siemens Icono biplanes on the QMC campus. We are also in the process of having 2 additional cardiac cath labs.
We support vascular and urology theatres. We provide Neuro and Vascular IR services and cover a range of procedures including Mechanical Thrombectomy, Neuro embolisation's, Chemo Embolisation's, Vascular angioplasties, FEVAR’s, PTC’s, Renal work and major trauma. Cardiology also covers procedures including primary PCI, TAVI’s, Ablations and a wide range of devices. By 2026 we hope to have redeveloped our dept at the City campus and moved into brand new accommodation.
Applicants will be required to work across both sites. Our working hours are from 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday of which you will work 4 days. We have an on call service at both sites as well as one for Cardiac, in which you will be expected to participate.

Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) and City Hospital offer a wide range of clinical and regional services such as; regional neurosciences, Nottingham Children’s Hospital , an Emergency Department (a level 1 Trauma Centre), cardiac and thoracic surgeries, cancer, renal, urology, and stroke services.
We are expanding our department and have an exciting new position for a forward thinking experienced radiographer with an interest in Interventional Radiology/Cardiology to join our busy team.
We are a friendly team working with multiple specialties including Neuro, Vascular, Body, MSK and Cardiology. The team work across two sites in a large teaching trust.
