Physiotherapy Team Leader - Fracture Clinic/Hands

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our growing orthopaedic hand service at Queens Medical Centre. This is a permanent Band 7 post, working 18.75 hours per week.
You will support the Clinical specialist physiotherapist to develop the evolving hand therapy team and work as part of the MDT. The caseload is complex as we are a major trauma centre, and in addition to trauma hand clinics and elective hand clinics, we provide a therapy service for the brachial plexus and peripheral nerve service. The successful applicant will have a significant experience of assessing and managing trauma and elective hands and the upper quadrant.

This role will involve:
- · fast-paced initial assessment, treatment and triage of patients in busy trauma and elective hand clinics.
- · the management and rehabilitation of a hand and upper limb outpatient caseload, including brachial plexus injuries.
- · frequent interaction with our consultant colleagues and their teams to ensure excellent patient care.
- · supervision and training of rotational and static B6 Physiotherapists in a busy working environment.
- · Contribution to the senior in-service training programme
- · Development of the hand therapy service and supporting staff through planned changes to current practice, alongside the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
- Research and audit projects.

1. Cover hand clinics – trauma and electives
2. Provide rehabilitation of hand and upper extremity patients
3. Collaborate with AHP colleagues, consultants, and nurses in dressings clinics
4. Communication and networking with primary care colleagues to optimise carepathways
5. Training and education within the team and wider hand therapy and senior team
6. Managing the broader health and social complexities of patients
7. Promote evidence based practice
8. Participate in research and audit
9. Manage team performance e.g. mandatory training, appraisals, health roster
10. Weekend and BH inpatient duties pro rata
