Radiographer Plain Film

Job overview
We are excited to advertise fixed term Band 5 Radiographer posts in the Plain Film department at NUH.
Our radiographers play a vital part in helping NUH Radiology to be the leading provider in Imaging Services across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands through delivering excellent, caring, safe and thoughtful healthcare. To achieve this, we are looking for committed individuals to join our progressive team of Plain Film Radiographers.
Successful applicants will be: highly motivated, adaptable to change; team players; and have excellent communication and organisational skills. Commitment to high quality patient care is essential. You will be able to display excellent interpersonal skills with a caring, patient centred and flexible approach to work.
The Radiology Department supports all services within the Trust and spans across Queens Medical Centre, City Hospital and the Treatment Centre. In order to meet the demands of these services, we currently have 25 X-Ray rooms, 7 MRI Scanners, 6 CT Scanners, 27 Ultrasound machines and 5 Interventional Radiology suites with further plans to expand these areas.
There are exciting plans in development to open a new Community Diagnostic centre in the City centre in 2026 which will be managed by NUH Radiology. There may be a requirement for staff to rotate to this location as part of this role.
Main duties of the job
This is an excellent opportunity for career driven, dynamic individuals who wish to start or continue their professional career and further their skills in supporting the imaging of a diverse workload in Plain Film.
We are looking for role models to support our vision, with good communication skills, who can work and think autonomously but also work well in a team.
It will be expected that the successful candidate will work, as rostered within all areas of the Plain Film departments, including fluoroscopy, theatres and mobile examinations. and OOH shifts. You must have the ability to work flexibly across seven days to match the demands of the service.
We encourage CPD, clinical staff participation in meetings and extended roles and advance practice.
It will be expected for you to maintain and develop high standards of patient care, clinical skills and innovation.

- Existing or pending BSC Radiography
Desirable criteria
- Existing or pending HCPC registration
Experience
Essential criteria
- Worked/trained as a student in a busy NHS hospital environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience of acute imaging including ED and theatres
Communication and relationship skills

- Ability to work as part of a team

- Able to manipulate radiographic equipment and wear lead aprons
