Patient Pathway Administrator

Band 3

An opportunity has arisen for a Patient Pathway Administrator to join our busy admin team within Gastroenterology, covering both NCH and QMC.

The vacancy available is as follows:

1 x Full Time Patient Pathway Administrator

As part of the role the successful candidate will be responsible for:

A large amount of audio typing, accurately transcribing digital dictations for outpatient clinic letters and any miscellaneous clinical correspondence to a high standard within specified timescales Production of discharge summaries and any other relevant paperwork, ensuring that patient pathways are dealt with in an accurate, effective and timely manner by monitoring status of results and chasing appropriate departments within the hospital Efficiently prioritising daily workloads to guarantee deadlines are met Ensure patient data is accurate at all times Providing gold standard service for patients and clinicians Knowledge of patient pathways is essential as the role requires close liaison with the outpatients administrator regarding appointments to ensure patients are treated within their pathway without delay.

In undertaking this role, the employee will be expected to work in line with the Trust values and behaviours.

About you

You will enjoy working in a busy and varied environment, responding to patient enquiries and requests as well as supporting clinician and secretarial colleagues. This involves utilising excellent communication skills, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as excellent planning, organisational and prioritising skills.

You must be able to work under pressure and may be expected to change workload priorities if required. You must be adaptable to new ideas and use your initiative to instigate change when appropriate.

You must be a team player and also be able to use your own initiative to meet agreed plans and deadlines. You will have RSA III word-processing/text processing or equivalent or and 5 GCSE’s grade C or above, including English.

About the Directorate/Specialty/Service

The Surgery Division is a service involving professionals from various disciplines working together to provide management of acute and chronic pain. We work within a multidisciplinary team comprising of Consultants, Specialist Nurses and Administration staff.
