This post is eligible for a Golden Hello payment of £2,750 for new starters who are external to the Trust.  This is payable in 3 instalments over a 2 year period.  This payment is only eligible to new starters who do not already hold a contract of employment with the Trust and have not been an employee of the Trust in the previous 3 years.  This post also includes paid enhancements for unsocial hours working during night, weekends and bank holidays.

Would you like to join an established team but be part of transforming services for those who have mental health needs and serving the population South of the City?  If you are a qualified occupational therapist currently at band 5 level and are seeking to establish yourself amongst an experienced multidisciplinary local mental health team, then this is the role for you.  
The post holder needs to have a focus of keeping patients and their loved ones at the heart of everything they do. To develop a specialist knowledge in the mental health needs of adults and their families, with specific focus and remit to deliver significant improvements in services for patients that have long term mental health conditions and rehabilitation needs. 
Our core business hours are 09:00-17:00 but some flexibility can be offered.

To provide the City South Local Mental Health Team with the defined level of expertise as a registered Occupational Therapist in a dedicated role within the team.
To effectively plan and implement a high-quality occupational therapy service with people suffering from serious or complex mental health illness referred to the team.  To work autonomously and ensure each service user is assessed in relation to their occupational functioning and work with the individual to identify their plans to maximise independence in relation to daily living.

The post holder must have a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and current HCPC registration, have some post qualification experience working as a Band 5 occupational therapist.  If newly qualified then bring other mental health experience. 
Essential is a positive attitude to people with mental health needs and their families.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
