Job overview
We are looking for a locum consultant gynaecologist to join our team, for 9 months who has an interest in caring for patients on a 2ww (USC) Pathway
Our gynaecology service includes urogynaecology, reproductive medicine, benign and emergency gynaecology, and gynae oncology, with community clinics and acute services.
We have a two- tier gynaecology on-call consultant rota, one consultant is rostered to cover emergency gynaecology at the QMC campus, the other consultant is on-call for complex surgery, which includes oncology at City and maternity on both campuses, in the event that a gynaecologist is required to support the obstetric team.

Professional Registration
Essential criteria
- Full GMC registration
- MRCOG
- Relevant CCT or equivalent (must be confirmed by GMC by date of interview)
- Entry to GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of interview (Appointments Advisory Committee)
Professional Qualifications/Development
Desirable criteria
- ATSM including any of the following: high risk pregnancy/benign gynae/emergency gynae/reproductive medicine/paed gynae lead
Clinical Experience and effectiveness
Essential criteria
- Clinical training and experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology equivalent to that required for a UK CCST
Desirable criteria
- Specific training in communication skills

- Able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust's 'We are here for you' behavioural standards
Management and administrative experience
Essential criteria
- Good leadership skills
- Evidence of completion of an audit cycle or quality improvement project

- Ability to travel between City Hospital, QMC and community campuses
- Willingness to work an on-call rota
- Prepared to live or stay within 30 minutes of the hospital
