Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking to make a significant impact in healthcare? King's Mill Hospital has an exciting opportunity for you!

As a Hospital Out of Hours Practitioner, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective safe clinical care is delivered outside of normal working hours within Kings Mill Hospital. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing strong clinical leadership within a multi-professional team.
    Offering advice, support, guidance, and education to nursing and Junior medical staff.
  • Being a role model and expert practitioner.
  • Responding to critical issues, Acute response and Cardiac Arrest calls as part of the Hospital Out of Hours team.
  • Ensuring prompt support and effective clinical assessment/treatment.
  • Developing advanced assessment skills and knowledge.
  • Expanding professional practice in line with nursing professional codes.
  • Undertaking procedures like cannulations, venepuncture, ABGs,   catheterisation, and 12 lead ECG recordings.
  • Prioritising workloads with the aid of Nerve Centre.
  • Undertake audits, and support improvement projects

  • 1st Level Registered Nurse
  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent clinical professional qualification
  • Registered clinical professional
  • Qualification in teaching and assessing or equivalent
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Working towards Masters qualification or equivalent
  • Additional professional/management qualifications
  • APACs or equivalent consultation and assessment course or working towards it
  • Non-medical prescribing course, or working towards it

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of personal and professional development in clinical practice/ management
  • Advanced Life Support
  • Relevant teaching and assessing qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working towards Care Quality Commission and NHS Resolution standards

Experience

  • Significant post registration experience, with experience in a senior position within the speciality
