Flexible Receptionist / Driver - Urgent and Ambulatory Care

Are you kind and compassionate with good communication skills? Are you calm under pressure and able to respond to patient queries in a sympathetic manner? Do you hold a UK driving licence? Do you have basic computer and administration skills and an eye for detail?
The Urgent and Ambulatory Care Service (responsible for the provision of Out of Hours GP services across the County, working 7 days a week 365 days a year) is looking to recruit.
Receptionist/Drivers to join our pro-active, dynamic and dedicated Overnight Out of Hours Teams in various bases across Oxfordshire.
We have a wide range of shifts available across in all our locations across Oxfordshire – Abingdon (primary base); Banbury (primary base); Henley (primary base); Oxford (primary base); Witney (primary base) from Monday to Friday, 1800-2300, 2300-0800, and Saturday and Sunday between 0800-08:00. Applicants must write within their applicant which primary base they are applying for.
Following a substantial training period, you will be responsible for; supporting GPs and Clinicians to manage the flow of patients and waiting rooms, drive clinicians to visit patients in their homes, general administrative duties and stock/equipment handling.
You will work in close liaison with Driver/Receptionists at bases across the county within the service.
Flexibility to respond at short notice, be able to cover in the event of sickness and work planned extra hours to cover holiday is advantageous.
- Driving and reception knowledge/experience
- Previous experience within Health Care/NHS
- Valid Driving Licence
- Good General Level of Education
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Driving and reception experience
- Effective communicator (verbal and written)
- Able to work flexibly: evenings, weekends, bank holidays and overnights

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
