Part Time Band 7 Clinical Leadership post to join our friendly North Team based in Banbury.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide advanced podiatric care  to patients in community clinic settings.

The department is keen to support and develop our podiatry clinical leads. The post includes clinical development and funding to support undertaking relevant Post Graduate courses i.e: Independent Prescribing, ACP Roles etc.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be responsible for delivering a high quality, accessible and timely evidence based clinical pathway for patients, supporting your
local community podiatry team with high risk/wound clinics.

You will provide clinical leadership to that clinical pathway and take responsibility in educating colleagues and training staff with your specialist knowledge.  You will help lead on the Training of Apprentice Podiatrists, CSW's and mentoring newly qualified clinicians as well as students on placement.  You will be an excellent communicator, able to work independently, organised and confident.

You will have an opportunity to work with supportive teams and committed colleagues.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Applications are invited from motivated BSc qualified and HCPC registered podiatrists with NHS experience who are keen to advance their clinical, professional and leadership skills. Clinicians with little leadership experience but who show enthusiasm to develop their clinical career in
this area are also encouraged to apply. 

This post is based in North Oxfordshire, and the post holder will also be required to visit patients homes, attend meetings or training across the wider county. Own car is essential.

Essential criteria
  • Post-graduate NHS work experience including experience treating high risk patients
  • Teaching/training of colleagues/students/health care professionals/patients/public
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of NHS podiatry service provision
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to interpret X-ray films
  • Prescriber status or evidence of understanding of relevant common prescription medicines
  • Mentorship/teaching ability to support the development of Specialist Podiatrists (Band 6) and Podiatrists (Band 5)

qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MA/MSc or equivalent level of academic ability/experience
  • BSc Podiatry (or diploma in Podiatric Medicine with equivalent experience)
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant postgraduate certificates or postgraduate diploma (or to be achieved within agreed timescale)
  • C&G teaching certificate
