Job overview
An opportunity has arisen within the Finance Management Team of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust for a Finance Analyst. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible individual to support the Finance Manager.
Main duties of the job
Working within the finance team, the post holder will be responsible for the preparation of budgets and the maintenance of strong budgetary controls. Provision of high quality financial information and guidance to budget holders. Maintenance of the financial ledgers and production of standard monthly, quarterly and annual reports as well as ad hoc reporting and costing information.
The successful candidates will be either fully qualified AAT, part qualified studying for CIMA/ ACCA or qualified by experience, with excellent IT skills, good communication skills and confidence to influence senior managers and clinicians across the Trust. They will be required to work to tight deadlines and therefore will need the ability to prioritise effectively.

- Association of Accounting Technicians Membership or part qualified CCAB

- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Finance Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of budget management
- Previous experience of Month End work
- Experience of working with highly sensitive, complex information/data, evaluating and presenting evidence
- Experience of providing trend analysis and the calculation of forecasts
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of the apportionment and allocation of costs
