Job overview

This is an exciting time to join a dynamic and innovative CAMHS workforce in Oxfordshire.

Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) have been set up in response to the Government’s Green Paper in 2017. They aim to increase access to mental health support by delivering evidence-based early interventions for children and young people (CYP), in both Educational and Health settings.

Working within Oxfordshire MHST, your role will be to supervise EMHPs and help them to develop their role. Supervision consists of  Case Management Supervision of low intensity cognitive behaviour therapy interventions. This may include supporting  trainee EMHPs (Band 4) and/or qualified EMHPs (Band 5). You will be involved in triaging and allocating referrals and supporting the whole school approaches we offer in schools.

Main duties of the job

You will work within the MHST Team which is an integral part of the child and adolescent mental health service providing support for children, young people and their families who present with low-moderate mental health difficulties.

The role is hybrid, meaning clinical work can take place in schools, the clinic base and with some flexibility to work from home to do your administration tasks. You will also hold a small caseload and will develop good working relationships with schools.

You will have either already have a CWP/EMHP Supervisor qualification, or be a qualified EMHP with 2 years post qualifying experience who is prepared to undertake the EMHP or Senior Wellbeing practitioner course at Reading in September '24.   You will have already registered with the BABCP or BPS, or awaiting confirmation of this process.
