Main duties of the job

We have adopted a centralised hiring process for administration roles in bands 2-3 and 4-5. This means you apply once and are considered for multiple positions within our organisation, saving time for both candidates and managers while accessing a broader talent pool.

This week are currently recruiting for the following Band 3 role across the organisation:

  • Assistant Pathway Co-ordinator - 37.5 hours per week., 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract, Location - Churchill Hospital

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Patient administration underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. Effective and efficient patient administration supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources. 

The post holder is required to assist in the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient administrative service, which is effectively delivered to all patients and members of the Department. This will be through supporting the Speciality Coordinator in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team.  This will involve waiting list management for a speciality, in accordance with the Elective Access Policy, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers and/or typing correspondence as appropriate.  

The post holder will also provide comprehensive administrative support service to the Haematology Trials Unit. This will involve scanning documents onto EPR, organising clinical trial medication prescriptions, management of regulatory documentation, upkeep of trial folders including photocopying and filing, and ordering office stock.

  • MS office and applications (including Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Previous experience within the NHS/public sector
