Job overview

We're looking for a housekeeper to join our existing small and friendly housekeeping team at Marlborough House Adolescent Mental Health Unit (12 beds) in Swindon.

We are looking for someone to cover cleaning and catering within the Inpatient Unit to ensure a welcoming, clean and safe environment for the young people their families and the wider team working on site.

The housekeeping role is an essential part of the day to day running of the ward and ensuring young people and their families we work with experience a high quality inpatient service. 

You'll be part of a great team of 5 housekeepers, supported by our Site Services Team Leader. 

Main duties of the job

We pride ourselves on providing a clean environment for the young people and this role involves carrying out the daily ward cleaning schedule as well as additional cleaning duties as required.

This role also involves preparing fresh sandwiches on site for the young people's lunches and using the ward regen heater to prepare the evening meal. 

A full induction and training as well as ongoing in house supervision will be provided.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To ensure all areas of the ward are kept to a high standard of cleanliness
  • To safely prepare meals for the patient group at mealtimes including fresh sandwiches at lunch times and to reheat frozen meals for patient evening meals.
  • Ensure all food items are correctly stored and there are adequate supplies.
  • To ensure all cleaning materials are used as directed and secured securely and safely in compliance with COSHH regulations
  • To have clear understanding of patient boundaries and vulnerability and ensure these boundaries are maintained at all times.
