Our goal is to support individuals in remaining as independent as possible, as close to home as possible, through comprehensive assessments and tailored interventions. We take pride in responding quickly to crises while also addressing long-term needs and goals.
We are a supportive, professional team committed to the multidisciplinary principles of care. Our structured 9-month rotations provide the opportunity to gain experience in a range of specialties, including Stroke, Community Rehabilitation, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Mental Health and the Powys-wide Community Learning Disabilities service. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your skills and expertise across diverse clinical settings.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who will contribute to the development of our service in South  Powys.

Our drive is to maintain patients in their own homes through thorough and comprehensive assessments and interventions. We believe in being able to respond rapidly to a crisis in addition to looking at individual’s long-term needs and aspirations.

We offer wide ranging interventions including developing our long term condition management programmes and one to one interventions in the community. We are a supportive professional team and are embedded in the multidisciplinary principles of care. 

You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills through structured rotations including Neurological Rehab, Community Rehab, and Inpatient Rehab.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Diploma/ Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registered (with anticipated registration within six months)
  • Documented Evidence of CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Additional clinical or healthcare related experience
  • Membership of Professional Body

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Clinical practice on fieldwork placements in a variety of general and specialist areas
Desirable criteria
  • Basic knowledge of principles of Clinical Governance
  • Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance

Other

Essential criteria
  • Ability to travel within geographical area.

  • Ability to speak or learn Welsh
