Job overview

This is a fixed term role for 18 months until 31 March 2027 due to funding.

As the lead Communications specialist for the Health Board’s Transformation programmes, you will be  responsible for:

  • Planning and delivery of communication programmes that enable Powys Teaching Health Board to achieve its improvement goals on behalf of the people of Powys.
  • Managing the organisation’s Transformation and Improvement communications, working closely with all services and departments providing channels and opportunities for staff, patient, public and partner conversations and ensuring key messages are cascaded.
  • Developing and embedding our organisational transformation narrative and enabling our staff to understand and articulate it. This will involve engaging with senior managers and frontline staff and ensuring key messages as well as staff achievements and innovation are shared across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

As the lead business partner on behalf of the Health Board’s Engagement and Communication Team with the Transformation and Improvement Directorate, you will assist the Deputy Director to ensure the delivery of an effective and professional Transformation and Improvement communications and public relations function that supports the Health Board to manage and protect its reputation whilst seeking opportunities to increase public awareness of, and confidence in the corporate
vision, objectives and planned activities and to evaluate their effect on target audiences.
