A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and compassionate administrator to work within our community children's nursing services. The Community Children's Nursing Admin Team are currently recruiting maternity cover for a band 3 Administrator.

The  nursing teams we support include community children's nursing, paediatric phlebotomy, children's respite, special school nursing, children's diabetes, children's continence and the school aged immunisation service.

We are looking for enthusiastic people to provide this administrative support. You will be responsible for a lead area within our service. Duties will include planning and co-ordinating administrative tasks in your lead area of responsibility and liaising with the clinical team to ensure the smooth running of the service.

Main duties of the job

You must hold Secretarial/Administrative training to NVQ level 3 or equivalent and be proficient in using Microsoft Office products, (Outlook, Word and Excel).  Ideally you will have experience using Rio or similar NHS systems, however training will be provided.

The post holder will be required to work on rota basis 2 weeks 3 days/week and 2 weeks 4 days/week 9am-5pm.

  • To work affectively as part of the Community Children's Administration Team providing administrative  and secretarial support.
  • To ensure the telephone is answered effectively and being the first point of contact for the service, taking accurate messages and resolve problems where appropriate and within the remit of the role.
  • To input data daily into NHS computer systems.
  • To ensure that equipment and supplies are appropriately stored, stock levels maintained to agreed levels and all equipment is within service dates.
  • To support and oversee the work of the Band 2 Assistant Administrator.
  • To attend meetings for the purpose of minute taking.
  • Organise and co-ordinate clinic groups for patient training.
  • Ordering equipment and supplies via Oracle.
