Qualifications

Essential criteria

HCPC registered.
Professional Physiotherapy Qualification (Diploma / Degree).
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to musculoskeletal practice.

Experience

Essential criteria

Completed a broad range of junior Band 5 rotations including core rotations, (respiratory, orthopaedics, trauma, out-patient Musculo-skeletal, neurology) or currently working as a band 6 in MSK.
Experience of audit, current policy and outcome measure.
Evidence of special interest in MSK and Orthopaedic care.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

Able to present information, written and verbal, in a clear and logical manner.
Competent IT skills.
Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and organise own caseload and delegate when necessary.
Understanding of Clinical Governance and the implications for physiotherapy.

Peer MDT diagnostic decision-making, with the support of the senior clinical MDT where required
Tech-enabled outcome report writing
Outcome calls with parents and families (via video call)

As a Senior Assessor, you have the opportunity to focus on delivering direct care. Furthermore, if you have the relevant experience and skills, you can take on an additional responsibility. We limit this to one responsibility to allow for focused time on that topic, rather than having your time stretched too thinly. When taking on an additional responsibility, your case volume is reduced, making time available for this focused time.

For Senior Assessors, additional responsibility options include supporting more complex cases, ensuring quality assurance, providing training, facilitating family engagement, and contributing to pathway development.
