Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 3 Therapy Support Worker to join our acute therapy team.
The successful candidate will work on the winter escalation ward, which is expected to be open from December '25 to March '26.
The successful candidate will complete assessments of patients function to determine discharge planning with guidance from qualified Therapists. The role forms part of a team of generic support workers who currently work between the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams. The candidate must have experience of working either within or alongside physiotherapy and/or occupational therapy and experience working within an acute, NHS therapy team is desirable.
We are delighted to be able to offer patients the opportunity of assessment by the Therapy Team for discharge over the weekend and Bank Holidays and the post holders would be expected to participate in the 7-day working rota. This will involve working a full day at a weekend as part of the departmental rota.

Main duties of the job
The role involves working with patients in a ward setting under supervision and guidance from qualified Physiotherapist and Occupational therapy staff.
You will be responsible for managing your own delegated clinical caseload and support qualified professionals in completion of mobility and transfers assessments. Your role will be to carry out delegated tasks and support with all aspects of discharge planning.

General educational qualificat
Essential criteria
- GCSE's literacy and numeracy (grade 9 - 4 or equivalent)
- Evidence of knowledge and skills sufficient to demonstrate the ability and willingness to study and work at a level equivalent to NVQ level 3
- NVQ level 3 in Health (Allied Health Profession support – Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) or be prepared to commencement one
Experience and knowledge
Essential criteria
- Previous work experience within NHS Therapy environment or equivilant e.g. Community Rehab/Therapy teams
Desirable criteria
- Acute NHS inpatient therapy support worker experience at B2 or above.
- Knowledge of therapy department and job role within the acute setting
