Job overview

We are excited to announce a brand-new opportunity for a Band 4 Pharmacy Technician to join our care homes team at our Halesfield premises in Telford. This is a full-time position on a fixed-term contract of 6 months. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in enriching our multidisciplinary team (MDT) by providing essential pharmacy support to our care homes for the first time.

Main duties of the job

As a key member of the Care Home team, the postholder will collaborate closely with the MDT to develop and deliver a high-quality pharmaceutical and technical service for Care Home patients. 
Working closely with patients to make sure they get the most out of their medications and offering pharmaceutical advice and information to members of the Care Home team will be a primary 
priority as well as to champion patient safety and support medication management.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BTEC Pharmaceutical Science & NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy
  • Current Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Maintains a portfolio of CPD in line with regulatory body standards

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Able to demonstrate experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of providing a pharmacy service on a hospital ward and counselling patients.
  • Experience of using a range of medicines management procedures and practices

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office software with proven computer literacy and IT skills
  • Knowledge of using search engines/medical databases to retrieve information
  • Evidence of undertaking medicine management audits
  • Evidence of good analytical skills and shows attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
