NHS AfC: Band 7

Emergency Department Manager at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford

The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust is pleased to be able to offer a Band 7 Emergency Department Nurse Manager post, to support our team of nursing staff.

You will be a Registered Nurse with recognised practice at a minimum band 6 or equivalent in relevant speciality, with extensive post registration experience including within Emergency Services.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, self-motivated, reliable and experienced individual, to join our team in our busy Emergency Department at The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, Shropshire.  The work here is both challenging and rewarding and the successful candidate must have a proven ability in supervising, managing and controlling the activities of a department in an efficient and effective manner, whilst possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will have a proactive management style and able to anticipate and deal with issues constructively within a multidisciplinary team setting.  Showing commitment and direction to the team as a whole, you will actively participate in clinical practice, teaching, training and supervision of all grades of staff within our Emergency Department.

You will be required to be receptive to change and demonstrate active assistance and support to your more senior colleagues in the ongoing development of the department.  This post offers an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to progress further and enhance their leadership and management skills, whilst continuing to help in the development of the service.

You will have excellent communication skills and high clinical standards, with a passion to make a difference for patients and staff alike.

It is vital that the individual is able to demonstrate our Trust Values:

Proud To Care

We Value Respect

Make It Happen

Together We Achieve

These are exciting times in our emergency services and we want to hear from nurses who wish to advance their managerial and clinical skills to work within the unit.  We deliver a 24-hour service and you must be flexible to react to the needs of the service.

There is a requirement to work in both hospitals in the Trust and in all areas of Emergency Services.
