Nursing Associate

band 4

Job overview

Are you a compassionate, motivated clinician looking to play a key role in transforming patient care? Urological conditions can have a profound impact on daily life, and we’re looking for someone who is dedicated to supporting patients and their families through both acute and long‑term challenges.

If you’re ready to make a real difference while growing your specialist skills, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As a Nursing Associate within our Urology Outpatients team, you’ll be a vital part of a dynamic and supportive service. You will work closely with a wide range of Urology professionals, helping us deliver safe, effective and compassionate care to patients of all ages.

You’ll already have completed the Trainee Nursing Associate programme, achieved a Level 5 foundation degree–equivalent qualification, and secured registration with the NMC. You’ll be confident working in line with the NMC Code of Conduct and ready to apply your skills within a specialist setting.

Main duties of the job

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Lead your own nurse‑led clinics, including:
    • Adult and paediatric flow clinics
    • Trial Without Catheter (TWOC) clinics
  • Support clinicians in the flexible cystoscopy suite, gaining valuable experience in specialist procedures.
  • Scrub for surgical procedures and assist with trans‑perineal prostate biopsy clinics.
  • Support general urology clinics, ensuring excellent continuity of care.
  • Assess, plan and deliver high‑quality clinical care in line with patient needs, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, regularly liaising with other departments to coordinate care.
  • Carry out essential administrative duties that help the service run smoothly.
