To play a key role in the collection, manipulation, submission and usage of the data collected and held by AWP. This will include, providing data analysis, interpretation and helping to present and share information in a way that helps users to understand a given situation and make decisions.
Produce a wide variety of regular reports, monthly, quarterly and annually. In particular supporting the production of management information and national returns.
The post holder will be required to exercise initiative and independent judgement to ensure an efficient and high quality service at all times.

- Provide regular reports on performance and quality information for the executive committee, senior management team, Board of Directors, and Commissioners to monitor targets and indicators that underpin the work of the Trust
- Routinely submit datasets and/or upload data to national systems on a weekly and monthly basis to support monitoring of performance
- Communicate, and advise on, analytical matters to non-analytical professionals
- Routinely provide, receive and interpret complex, sensitive information
- Undertake complex analysis of information to ensure consistent and accurate reporting of activity
- Ensure accurate and timely information is provided to support services
- Investigate and develop information reporting using the latest analytical and statistical methodologies and toolkits that are available
- Interpret national data for local use
- Maintain up to date knowledge of NHS data definitions/standards and attend training as appropriate
- To provide high quality information on an ad hoc basis to tight deadlines
- Assess, prioritise and respond to ad hoc requests for information that arise from authorised internal and external sources in a timely manner
- Plan and lead the improvement of Data recording. Plan for national changes and coordinate updates accordingly.
- Work as an effective team member, working closely with other members of the Business Intelligence team.
- Develop, foster and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally to the department
- To maintain confidentiality at all times with regards to patient information
- Have good knowledge and experience in using software packages such as Microsoft Access, and advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel in order to develop data collection systems and analyse data
- To demonstrate high level keyboard skills, including the inputting and manipulation of data information into multiple databases
- Have the ability to advise users on data definitions and standards within own area of specialism
- Identify and investigate anomalies and instigating corrective action as required
- Plan and organise own time and prioritise own workload around daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly national/project deadlines and meetings, including urgent ad-hoc meetings and preparation
- Be able to balance and prioritise conflicting deadlines between routine work and deal with urgent ad-hoc requests on a daily basis from both Internal and external agencies
- Provide advice and technical support
- Required to set up reports for information users and design solutions both for routine and ad hoc information requests
- Use of IM&T software skills for the design, construction, implementation and maintenance of a range of data collection and reporting systems in order to collect and analyse data, as required
