Job overview

Applications are warmly invited for the positions of two locum Consultants in Anaesthesia to join our dynamic and thriving A.C.S.A. accredited anaesthetic department at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust (RUH). These are 6-month fixed term Locum Consultant positions.

We are looking for committed anaesthetists of proven ability who can contribute fully to both clinical and managerial roles within the department. Candidates should bring skills or knowledge that will enhance and expand the services already provided at the Royal United Hospital.

An ability to embrace change and develop services for more effective care delivery will be considered an asset.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work clinically at the RUH  site and at Sulis Hospital (owned by the RUH). This post is a standard 10PA contract. Comprising 8.5 PAs Direct Clinical Care and 1.5PAs Supporting Professional Activities in line with the national Consultant contract.

The clinical work will include elective and emergency operating lists across a broad range of surgical specialties (except for cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular, burns, transplant, and major trauma) plus pre-operative assessment and peri-operative care.

These are fixed term locum posts to cover substantive consultant absence. Applicants who can commence in these posts within an early time frame will be welcomed. These posts will both run for a duration of 6 months following appointment.
