Job overview
We are seeking a fulltime motivated Specialist Physiologist/Healthcare Scientist to join our enthusiastic busy team.
Both invasive & non-invasive tests are performed over a 6 day week as required.
The department offers a full range of cardiological services, both invasively & non-invasively. We also have 2 catheterisation labs offering a PCI service, pacing including CRM, Echo including DSE and TOE and many forms of diagnostic monitoring.

Main duties of the job
Your everyday responsibilities include clinical and operational day to day delivery of invasive and non-invasive clinical care coupled with providing support to other staff and ensuring safe effective delivery of a complex cardiology service. The post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team including consultants, other medical levels, clinical assistants, clerical staff, nurses and radiographers on a regular basis and perform a broad range of procedures which can be complex and non-routine.
Rotational shifts over 6 days to include Sunday work, on-call (cath lab) and occasional working in the community environment.

Skills
Essential criteria
- ILS/BLS trained
- Independant in tape analysis, and diagnostic angiography
Desirable criteria
- Be involved in either a research project or writing/implementing a SOP
- Experience in PCI, primary PCI and brady pacemaker implants
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Attended ECG interpretation course and exam
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Advanced ECG interpretation
