An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Clinical Endoscopy Manager at the Royal United Hospital Bath endoscopy unit.

We are seeking a highly motivated person with a drive for innovation and an aptitude for patient focused decision making. The role requires strong leadership skills to support and ensure safe delivery of emergency and diagnostic endoscopy services at the Royal United Hospital Bath.

We are looking for someone who is committed and enthusiastic, preferably with clinical experience of working within endoscopy and an understanding of the joint advisory Group (JAG) quality standards.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of leading and developing a high performing team to enhance patient care and customer experience, whilst facilitating the best possible clinical outcomes.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Matron and their unit team by providing clinical expertise and effective nursing leadership. In addition, the post holder will be required to work closely with the multi-disciplinary team in the provision of high standard, individualised patient care, thus driving continual improvements in the patient experience. The position supports a clinical role in addition to the management of operational and pastoral aspects.

Main duties of the job

  • Act as a responsible and professionally accountable role model to inspire, motivate and empower the workforce
  • Promote the development, implementation and review of standards, policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
  • Assist in effectively leading and motivating staff in the provision of care and future service development.
  • Promote evidence based clinical practice in performance improvement within the unit.
  • Act as a pivotal liaison role for the unit by providing effective communication, direction and support to staff and all stakeholders in a timely manner, which reflects and responds to population and patient needs.
  • Be integral in the organisational and strategic development of the clinical area.
  • Work closely with the Matron and Divisional Director of Nursing in implementing the Trust Clinical Governance and Nursing Strategy
  • To work in partnership with all members of the multi-professional team to address patients health needs through planning and delivering interventions which are based in practice and clinical judgement.
