Job overview
Senior Sister - Wm Budd Oncology / Haematology Ward Due to promotion of the current post holder we are looking for a dynamic Senior Sister with experience of SACT, Oncology and / or haematology nursing. William Budd is a 22 bedded ward. Our patients receive intensive systemic anti-cancer therapy, radiotherapy, stem cell transplantation, symptom management and / or end of life care. We are a friendly, dynamic and passionate team delivering outstanding care with patient safety and experience at the heart of what we do and have recently achieved ‘Excel Gold accreditation’. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about care of oncology / haematology patients. Using their clinical expertise, leadership and management skills to ensure patient care is optimised. You will be responsible for providing strong proactive leadership of the nursing team which is motivating, supportive whilst upholding the trusts values ‘Everyone matters, working together and making a difference’. Main duties of the job
The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse is accountable and responsible for the care delivery and management of the William Budd Oncology / Haematology Ward:
The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will be an exemplary role model and a highly experienced nurse; promoting and monitoring safe and effective practice, enhancing patient experience, providing effective leadership and management whilst contributing to the delivery of the Trust/Divisional objectives.
The post holder is accountable for developing team performance whilst managing a devolved budget ensuring efficient and effective use of physical and human resources. The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse will ensure the delivery of high standards by demonstrating care and compassion at all times.
The post holder will work closely with the Matron for Oncology / Hematology and Specialty Triumvirate in the management, development and strategy of the Department.
