We have an opportunity to join the Pharmacy team at the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust as Governance Lead and Trust Medication Safety Officer on a fixed term basis. This is a key post to improve our learning culture and collaboration with partners in primary to deliver the safest possible care for our patients. 

As a direct report to the Director of Pharmacy you will be a key member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team, providing input and leadership to the Trust Patient Safety agenda as we integrate the emerging Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) locally and across the wider health system.

Main duties of the job

1. Leads the delivery and development of all aspects of the medication safety agenda across the trust
2. Ensure systems are in put in place to improve and learn from medication safety events
3. Lead on the integration of medicines safety into the Trust PSIRF agenda
4. Working with (and managing) the Pharmacy Governance Team, Trust Medication Safety Group and lead clinicians and practitioners to drive change and improvement within the Trust regarding medication safety.
5. Develop, implement and monitor standards for safe and secure medicines use.
6.  Collaborate with ICB partners to interpret national and local agendas, and influence the focus of medicines clinical governance across the integrated care system
7. Develop education and training materials including reports relating to the management of medicines in the Trust and undertake research and audit to support innovative practice and sustain robust medicines management systems and processes.
8. Oversee the Pharmacy medication advice service
