Aseptic Services Operator

Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our growing team of Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians. The post holders will be involved in a broad range of activities in the Aseptic Services Unit of the Pharmacy, which will be the primary base.
The purpose of this role is:
- To participate in the aseptic dispensing of chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, parenteral nutrition and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Assemble ingredients for items to be made according to the worksheet and SOP’s, noting down accurately batch numbers and expiry dates, checking for any particles, discolouration or breakages.
- Generating worksheets and labels according to SOP’s and prescriptions
- Carry out Pre and In – Process Checks (PIPC) on assembled items and accuracy checks during the preparation of products (having undergone appropriate training and achieved the required level of competence – PIPC course).
- Participate in the examination of environmental monitoring media and recording of results

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good general standard of education demonstrating Maths, English and Science
- Willing and able to complete a comprehensive training programme within agreed timescale
- Willing and able to undertake Buttercups level 2 course
- Willing and able to undertake Pre and In Process Checking accreditation
Desirable criteria
- Previous training in aseptic services
- Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services
- Pre and In Process Checking accreditation
Knowledge and Experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous hospital or healthcare experience
- Previous experience of working in a laboratory
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
