We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Pharmacy Technician – Operations to join our senior leadership team and help shape the future of pharmacy services at RUH Bath.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead operational pharmacy services, including procurement, stores, dispensaries, homecare and wholesale supply, while driving transformation and excellence across the department.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the day to day management of the Operational Pharmacy services (procurement, stores and dispensaries) involved with medicines supply.
• To ensure operational delivery of Service Level Agreements related to wholesale with outside organisations & act as Deputy Responsible Person for Good Distribution Practice activities
• To lead the Pharmacy Procurement activities and oversee the stock management across Pharmacy.
• To be responsible lead for medicines contract management
• To develop specialist pharmacy technical and assistant roles and functions within the Pharmacy service
• As a member of the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team (SLT), to help lead and develop a strategic vision and delivery plan for the pharmacy department
• To contribute to the divisional bed and site management on a rota basis

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Pharmacy Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council (UK) registration
- NVQ Level 4 in Management or equivalent knowledge and experience in Pharmacy management
- Postgraduate level qualification in relevant subject (e.g. business administration) or equivalent relevant experience in management to Master’s Level
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT)
Desirable criteria
- Project management qualification (e.g.PRINCE2)
- Formal Management Qualification or equivalent significant experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- UK hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience of audit and quality systems
- Experience of supporting or leading QIPP or quality improvement projects
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Quality Systems Management and pharmaceutical quality assurance and control
- Relevant IT skills and use of Pharmacy stock control systems
- Ability to manage and motivate staff
Desirable criteria
- Working knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and supply via Wholesale Dealer Authorisation
