Employer heading
Radiology Department Assistant (RDA)
NHS AfC: Band 2
Job overview
.Become a Radiology Department Assistant at the RUH
Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day? We are looking for part‑time Radiology Department Assistants (RDAs) to join our friendly and dedicated team.
Available hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:00–20:00, with some ad‑hoc weekend and Bank Holiday work. Part‑time patterns are available, and preferred hours can be discussed at interview. If you’d like to talk through options before applying, please get in touch using the contact details below.
You’ll be joining a well‑established team of 23 permanent RDAs (a mix of full‑time and part‑time staff), alongside our porters and radiographic colleagues. Vacancies within this team don’t come up often, making this a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and experienced department.
Main duties of the job
About the role
As an RDA, you’ll play a key part in helping radiographers and radiologists deliver a high‑quality imaging service for our patients. This is a varied role combining both clinical and clerical tasks.
The work can be physically demanding at times and occasionally emotionally challenging, but it is also hugely rewarding. You’ll need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team, communicate well, and feel confident using basic computer systems.
Previous healthcare experience is desirable due to the level of patient interaction, and an understanding of what happens within a Radiology Department would be beneficial.
If you are compassionate, reliable and keen to provide excellent patient care, we would love to hear from you.
- To work as part of the imaging service team assisting radiologists, radiographers and radiology nurses in providing a high quality diagnostic service.
- To carry out all duties to the agreed standard in accordance with departmental protocols
- To provide a high standard of patient care to include a diverse range of patients
- To take a proactive approach to flexible working
