The vacancy is 26 hours per week, and due to the needs of the service, the working pattern is fixed as follows:
Required Shifts
- Monday: 4:15pm – 8:00pm
- Tuesday: 4:15pm – 8:00pm
- Saturday: 7:30am – 2:00pm
- Sunday: 7:30am – 2:00pm and 1:30pm – 8:00pm
- (Alternatively, cover the full day: 7:45am – 8:00pm)
You’ll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors attending Radiology, helping us provide a welcoming and efficient service.
If you are reliable, approachable, and enjoy working in a busy patient‑facing environment, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you’ll play a key part in welcoming patients, relatives and members of the public to our Radiology Department. As the first point of contact, you’ll help us deliver an efficient, friendly and supportive appointments service. You’ll also handle a variety of incoming and outgoing telephone calls, using sound judgement to escalate queries where needed.
You’ll need confident computer and typing skills, along with a positive and flexible approach to a busy workload. This is a fast‑paced role where priorities can change quickly, so being able to multitask and work independently is essential.
Main Duties of the Role
- Provide a warm, professional welcome to patients, visitors and clinical staff attending Radiology Reception, ensuring everyone is supported with care and courtesy.
- Manage telephone enquiries in a helpful and confidential manner, taking clear messages, providing accurate information, and escalating calls appropriately.
