Specialist Radiotherapy Department Assistant

Band 3

Trosolwg o'r swydd

We are expanding our Radiotherapy team within our hospital and inviting caring, supportive people to take a look at this exciting opportunity to join us.

We are looking for people who love working as part of a team, and helping others, and who can come to work with a positive attitude and a friendly smile.

The role of the Specialist Radiotherapy Department Assistant is unique. You'll  be based within the radiotherapy outpatient department at the RUH and work as an integral part of our radiotherapy team.

Radiotherapy is a highly specialist treatment, which is used to destroy cancer cells. Patients attend for one session where the treatment is planned using our dedicated CT scanner in our pre-treatment suite. Radiotherapy treatment is then delivered by Therapeutic Radiographers using one of our three X-ray therapy treatment machines. Patients attend for between 1 and 35 daily treatments.

Though viewed favourably, no previous healthcare experience is necessary.  We provide all the training you need. You will start on our induction programme to help you settle into the Royal United Hospitals Bath and you will learn the skills you need to do this role and we will start you working towards achieving the Care Certificate (if you do not already hold this qualification).

If you're passionate about making a positive difference to others and you would like to be part of a service that delivers cancer treatment to patients, we want to hear from you.  In return for your commitment and compassion, we can offer you a rewarding career and opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills in this exciting area of healthcare.
