Band 7 Senior Mental Health Practitioner, CAMHS ED, Clevedon

Band 7

Job overview

North Somerset CAMHS Eating Disorder Team is a well-established multi-disciplinary team, which is continuing to grow due to new investment.

The service is committed to continuous improvement and providing accessible and flexible, therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families.

We are a busy, forward thinking team who are interested in supporting a positive team culture and good team wellbeing.

We are recruiting a Senior Mental Health Practitioner who is wanting to develop their leadership skills alongside their clinical work.

We are looking for someone who is interested in helping with daily co-ordination of the service, supporting service development, participating and leading supervisions, reflective practice and MDT meetings.

This role will be working alongside the Systemic Family Therapist (Lead for Eating Disorders in North Somerset), Consultant Psychiatrist and Eating Disorders Clinicians to deliver an outstanding service for the families within North Somerset.

The role will include facilitating assessments and delivering treatment for families who come into the service. North Somerset Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team (CAMHS) currently offers a range of innovative and informed approaches, supports CPD opportunities with a comprehensive in-house training programme.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will join the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of clinical assessment and provision of therapy to young people (0-18) and their families and/or carers within the North Somerset CAMHS specifically working with eating disorders.

The post-holder will contribute to the provision of high quality evidence-based, specialist Eating Disorder services. This will include providing outreach work to patients who may find it hard to attend clinics and access support at times of transition between services.

The post-holder will provide leadership support to the team and coordinate day to day activities alongside the systemic lead for ED and with support from the clinical service manager.

We welcome applicants who may be in a current Band 6 role and are looking for a development opportunity. We will consider providing a structured development plan with support in reaching Band 7 competencies over a 6-month period for those that may not meet all essential criteria but have the passion and drive to develop within the service.

We offer flexible working patterns and have the benefit of working across 2 sites in Weston-super-Mare & Clevedon.

We welcome calls/visits from prospective candidate to discuss in more detail, this opportunity, & what the team can offer.
