We are seeking to appoint a Community Urgent Care Staff Nurse to support our Emergency Nurse Practitioners in our busy MIUs. Somerset Community Urgent Care service has approximately 110,000 attendances a year over our 7 units. If you would like to expand or learn new skills enjoy variety and caring for patients of all ages and acuity including trauma and illness this will be the post for you
Main duties of the job
Are you a band 5 staff nurse looking for a challenge in a new exciting role within our Minor Injuries Unit at Frome.
No two days are the same!
The role involves initial assessment , wound care, assessment, and closure , plastering, administrating medication under PGD, and assisting the Nurse Practitioners in their role.
As a dynamic team with a broad scope of advanced practice including both injury and illness, we embrace variety and the challenge of learning something new every day.
As part of your interview, you will be required to show the following: Proof of any essential qualifications stated on the Job Description, proof of NHS payslip if coming from another NHS Organization and all ID to prove your identity and Right to Work (More details will follow for successful applicants invited to interview)

- Experience relevant to MIU.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in Emergency and Unscheduled Care.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
