Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic administrator/administrative support to work within our friendly multidisciplinary team.

The Child Neurodevelopmental Service is a newly established and developing team working across the beautiful County of Somerset. 

Main duties of the job

You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our team by providing administrative support. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys contributing to the success of a dynamic team.

As a Team Administrator within the Children and Young People's Neurodevelopmental Partnership (CYPNP) Autism assessment pathway, you'll be able to organise your own workload and work closely with other Administrators within the Service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Communicate with patients, colleagues, internal and external contacts in a courteous, professional and timely manner at all times by various methods, i.e. telephone, written, face to face
  • Deal with day to day correspondence
  • Receive telephone calls, accepting messages on behalf of members of the specialty team, taking appropriate action where necessary

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Diploma/Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent
  • ECDL trained or other Microsoft Office qualifications (including Word, Excel) or equivalent experience
  • Good standard of education up to GCSE or O'level (A-C) Standard
Desirable criteria
  • RSA/OCR III WP/Typing or equivalent
  • Diploma/Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent

Knowledge/Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills on the telephone, via email, face to face and in written correspondence
  • Administrative experience
  • Audio typing
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS administration experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Minute taking experience or willing to learn
