SIREN Health Care Assistant
NHS AfC: Band 3
Do you want to work as a healthcare assistant contributing to vital COVID-19 research?
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 3 healthcare assistant to join the department of clinical research working on the SIREN study here at Musgrove Park Hospital.
The purpose of the SIREN study is to understand whether prior infection with SARS-CoV2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) protects against future infection with the same virus. SIREN is not only informing public health policy through estimating reinfection risks among people who have had COVID-19 in the past, but it will also be able to provide data on vaccine effectiveness!
We are proud to have nearly 1000 colleagues supporting this research study and are looking to recruit a passionate HCA to join our small team obtaining blood and swab samples from participants.
You will need to be a proactive and motivated individual with a keen eye for detail. Venepuncture skills are desirable but full training will be provided.
If you are looking for a new challenge then we would love to hear from you.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
