Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a flexible and dynamic individual with great interpersonal skills, to join our team as a Booking Officer in the Contact Centre.  

Monday 9.15 to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch

Wednesday 9.15 to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch

Thursday 9.15 to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch

Friday 9.15 to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch

The successful post holder will assist in delivering a smooth and efficient administrative service, contributing to patient care. Some of your time will be spent in the Contact Centre dealing with patients over the phone and online and and some will be spent supporting patients face to face, when they arrive for appointments within Main Outpatients.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way but be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions, and you must possess effective communication skills whilst always maintaining patient confidentiality. 

You must be confident, diplomatic and able to work in a busy environment with a pleasant and caring disposition.

Essential criteria
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications including English Language Grade A-C
  • NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Service or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience.

  • Proficient IT skills including keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft packages
