A bespoke development programme is tailored to each ED clinical team member’s needs. This allows our team members to achieve acute and emergency care competencies, in line with the RCEM higher specialty training curriculum. This allows development of emergency care skills, support progress onto our CESR programme (also provided locally), or improve evidence for specialty training applications. Relevant life support courses are paid for by the trust, outside your study budget. All of these activities are supported through a purpose built education and clinical skills centre within the hospital.
There is a high level of Consultant supervision and support with regular Clinical Governance meetings and bite size teaching sessions. Current team member special interests range from pre-hospital care to hospital at home, simulation, research, ultrasound and systems development. Audit and research interests are strongly encouraged.
