Are you an experienced Dietitian looking to work within a friendly, supportive team in Yeovil?
Would you enjoy working in an acute hospital but with strong links to dietetic teams across Somerset?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to support the development of the dietetic service provision for ICU and gastroenterology wards.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the service to these clinical areas is equitable and progressive and for the support and supervision of the team members working with them.
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you'll have varied post-graduate experience, covering a range of specialties (this would be normally be equivalent to 2 or more years’ experience). This may include specific experience in working with patients in critical care / high dependency, gastro and surgical specialties. Advanced communication skills and strong MDT working experience are essential. Training and support will be available.
You need to be registered as a Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council and ideally have current NHS experience.

Main duties of the job
Working with and supporting the Band 5 Dietitian and Band 3 Dietetic Assistants, you will provide a dietetic service to the across a number of acute medical, gastroenterology and surgical wards.
There may also be a requirement to cover specialist outpatient clinics. The job will also incorporate supporting and training our apprentices within Yeovil District Hospital alongside external students and apprentices from wider areas.

You’ll work very closely with a Band 5 Dietitian and Dietetic Assistant, and will become a part of a welcoming integrated team of Dietitians, Dietetic Apprentices, Dietetic Support Workers, Nutrition Nurses and Administrative staff at Yeovil District Hospital as well as Musgrove Park Hospital and the Community team.
We take Student Dietitians from Plymouth University for A, B and C placements, and support apprenticeship placements. We actively encourage training and CPD. As a service we provide Bank Holiday cover and work flexibly to provide clinical cover to specialist areas.
