Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research and Innovation Team as Research Sister / Charge Nurse covering maternity leave.
This post is on a secondment basis for 12 months.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team, managing and coordinating clinical research studies. The aim of this post is to increase recruitment into research studies as part of the strategic development of Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The post will involve recruiting patients into clinical studies, providing support and education whilst on the clinical study and the collection and documentation of accurate data. The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the set-up of new studies, in conjunction with the R&I department. This will include studies adopted onto the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) portfolio and those commercially sponsored. The post holder will work as part of the larger team to ensure the research is delivered in accordance with the necessary requirements and regulations, including ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Support will be provided from the relevant NIHR network; appropriate training will be given to develop the post.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Post registration experience as staff nurse (or above) working in busy clinical environment
- Able to undertake all nursing duties without supervision
- Demonstrates clinical skills and knowledge underpinned by theory
- Proven experience of team leadership
Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
- Minimum 2 years nursing practice
- Teaching qualification ENB 998 and/or C&G 730 or equivalent relevant experience
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- First level registration
Personal Attributes & Skills
Essential criteria
- Experience of effectively working in a team and independently
- Able to work under own initiative and as an effective team member
- Able to organise and prioritise workload

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
