Main duties of the job

Core member of the Urology MDT

Works with Urology CNS Team Leader MDT and Care Group meet DBHFT  Target

Works with Urology CNS Team Leader MDT Care Group Lead Cancer Nurse to  comply with Cancer Peer Review

Assist integration of hospital assessment service back into the community to  General Practitioner care.  

Work with Urology CNS Team Leader developing teaching packages. .

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant post registration experience, at Band 5 or above, in cancer, palliative care or the speciality
  • Experience of multi-professional working
  • Experience of teaching
  • Evidence of good communications skills
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of audit and research
  • Understanding of Macmillan Cancer support and its role across the UK
  • Ability to support and influence change

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered General Nurse
  • First level degree in related subject or undertaking a Degree Pathway
  • Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant subject
  • Evidence of continued professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Research qualification
  • Advance Communications Skills Training or prepared to work towards
  • Recognised teaching qualification or prepared to work towards
