Job overview

We are looking to recruit a passionate mental health professional to work in our CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Service. We are a responsive and dynamic service that strives to provide the highest quality of care to families of children and young people struggling with eating disorders across Doncaster, Rotherham and North Lincolnshire.

You will be a skilled, hard-working and enthusiastic CAMHS Practitioner who is passionate about specialising in the field of Eating Disorders. You will have excellent clinical skills, experience of multi-agency working and delivering family-based interventions. You will be able to work independently and autonomously, and be capable of developing positive relationships with both internal and external colleagues. You should have a sound understanding of the legislation and guidance for safeguarding children and young people.

We would consider appointing the right person at Band 5 and supporting their development to Band 6 through a preceptorship.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate in this role will provide high quality direct patient care across a variety of setting, including our clinic bases, acute hospitals or at patient homes. Appropriate training and support can be offered to ensure treatment delivered follows NICE guidance. 

This role will require the successful candidate to be the primary treatment provider and case-holder for a number of families, whilst being supported by a robust, reflective and kind MDT.  Our team offers regular group and individual supervision as well as monthly whole team training and time-out.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional qualification (Registered Nurse, OT, Social worker or Creative Therapist)
  • Interest in working in the field of Eating Disorders
  • Interest in working with Children, Young People & Families
Desirable criteria
  • Training in clinical supervision
  • Training in specialist intervention

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to travel across service area
  • Knowledge of key guidance and legislation
  • Knowledge or experience of working with eating disorders
  • Knowledge and experience of working with CYP

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable post qualification experience, including experience of working with clients with mental health problems
  • Experience of Multi-Disciplinary Working
  • The ability to provide patient-centered assessments, care planning, therapeutic intervention formulation and evaluation of the intervention with children, young people, parents and families
  • Ability to undertake Risk Assessments and identify appropriate plans in partnerships with the young person, families and other agencies to maintain the safety of young people
  • Ability to work with clinical cases exhibiting a medium level of physical health risk (categorized amber on MEED) and lead on their care coordination.
