Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic self-starter to join the Corporate Assurance team (which encompasses Governance, Risk & Compliance) to cover maternity leave in the role of Corporate Assurance Officer. This will be a fixed term 9 month cover with potential to be extended by 3 months should the need arise.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude and have ambition to succeed in this varied, interesting and important role.

Main duties of the job

Working at the heart of the organisation you will support the Head of Corporate Assurance in providing a high-quality service to the Directors and Board level Committees to ensure that the arrangements and logistics for all meetings are robust and that all meeting papers are of a high quality, consistent and clear. 

You will support the management of risk centrally as well as supporting the corporate directorates and operational Care Groups.  Working collaboratively, you will contribute to the maintenance of the Trust Risk Registers to ensure that the Board remains well informed about current operational risks.

You will have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across a range of Trust colleagues, including senior managers, and be able to work on your own initiative as well as being a strong team player. You should have excellent time management and attention to detail along with proven experience of working under pressure and to very tight deadlines.

  • A minimum of 2 years administrative experience at NVQ 3 level or equivalent

  • Experience of producing minutes for Board-level committees and identifying follow-up actions from them in a timely manner
  • Previous experience in a similar position in either a private or public sector organisation
  • Experience of working in a complex environment with significant regulatory/statutory control
