Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric ENT
NHS Medical & Dental: Local appointment nodal point 3-5
Job overview
Fixed Term: 12 months | Full-time
The Department of Paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery at Sheffield Children’s Hospital is inviting applications for a 12-month Senior Clinical Fellow position. This role is ideal for ENT trainees/residents at ST6-8 (or equivalent), or ENT surgeons who have completed their Certification of Completion of Training (or equivalent), and are looking to further specialise in tertiary Paediatric Otolaryngology.
As a Senior Clinical Fellow, you will gain hands-on experience in different paediatric ENT surgeries. You will receive training in the management of complex paediatric ENT conditions, airway assessment, endoscopic management and reconstruction, paediatric head and neck surgery, and otology, including cholesteatoma and middle ear/bone-conducting implant surgery.
We encourage research during the fellowship, offering a dynamic environment for both clinical and academic development.
Apply today to join our leading paediatric ENT team!
Main duties of the job
Reporting into the Paediatric ENT Clinical Lead, this role offers clinical and training opportunities in Paediatric ENT, with a focus on specialist airway work.
You will need to work flexibly to meet the demands of a busy tertiary unit. The weekly timetable is outlined in the job description, but may be adjusted based on service needs or your interests. You will also be able to attend additional ENT lists if cases of interest arise.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the Specialist Registrar to provide on-call cover for the Children’s Hospital during the day.
