We're looking for an experienced construction project management professional with a background in building surveying and architecture to join us!

You will commission and lead on project management for both minor and major projects within the Estates team and will ensure the delivery of a compliant, high-quality, safe, efficient, and cost-effective capital programme. The Trust has several projects identified in its portfolio, and you will collaborate with the Director of Estates and wider team to develop and implement our strategic development plans.

You will deliver high-quality outcomes and communicate effectively with technical, clinical, and management professionals both within the Trust and externally.

About You

  • Master’s degree, or experience and level 6 degree in Architecture / Architectural technician.

  • Experience in Architecture design or Construction or Estates building surveyor.

  • Working knowledge of project management applications.

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Director of Estates, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide advice to the Estates department and the wider organisation to ensure the reliability and efficiency of building procedures, ownership models, fabric, and services.

  • Have specialised knowledge in areas such as building design, construction, and building services.

  • Write detailed technical specifications for building, construction, and engineering projects.

  • Have expertise in cost management and building surveying for projects in preparation for tender.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary actions identified through the assessment process.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Master's Degree in Architecture
  • Working knowledge of project management applications
  • Trained and proficient with Computer Aided Design (CAD/BIM)
Desirable criteria
  • Projects/Managmenet Qualifications (Prince 2)
  • Building Information Model (BIM) Knowledge

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in Architecture design or construction or Estates building surveyor
  • Experience/ability to work in administrative systems, budgets and managing projects
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety including Asbestos, CDM, Quantity Surveying and Fire Engingeering
Desirable criteria
  • Data Inputting/Analysis
  • Proven project management and commissioning experience either in an NHS or Private Sector environment
  • Understanding of Facilities management software/systems

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of health and safety in construction
  • Evidence of excellent system working, organisation skills, prioritistation and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage highly complex projects
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of procurement and commissioning processes.
