An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Paediatric Sleep Disorders Service as a Sleep Nursing Co-ordinator.
You will become part of a small, enthusiastic multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional care for children with sleep disorders.

  • Educated to GCSE standard, including English or equivalent
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and hard-working.
  •  A quick learner who enjoys being part of an expanding team.
  • Skilled in communication and committed to personal and professional development

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Paediatric Sleep Disorders Nurse Lead , some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and booking new sleep patients at Sleep House.
  • Answering telephone queries and scheduling appointments.
  • Prioritising your workload to ensure referrals and bookings meet Trust waiting time standards and Patient Access Policy.
  • Accurately recording and maintaining patient information on Trust systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems is essential

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE standard, including English or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent acquired through experience
Desirable criteria
  • GCSE in mathematics
  • Customer Care

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of good customer or patient care
  • Previous experience of working in a busy multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Experience with working with different computer software and information systems
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with medical, nursing and medical secretarial staff
  • Experience of using Patient Administrative System (Careflow)

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good verbal and writing communication skills with team / clients / relatives using tact when required
  • Ability to deal with conflict
  • Good time management skills with the ability to work to prioritise work according to deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a team and under own initiative
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of In-patient, Waiting list or Out-patient working processes and practices
  • Knowledge of medical records procedures
